FORD, Ann Marie

1954 - 2022

Ann Marie Ford (nee Conoley)

On Sunday, February 13, 2022, Ann passed away peacefully in her sleep at 67 years of age. She succumbed to cortico basal degeneration after a nearly two-decade battle with the debilitating neurological condition.

Ann was born in Gaspe, Quebec, and raised in Murdochville, Quebec; a place she considered to be “home”. Ann and Randy were married there in 1975; their early years were spent in Peterborough, Ontario; Edmundston, New Brunswick but Englehart became their other “home” in 1986.

Beloved wife of Randy; loving mother of Jeremy and Joshua and proud grandmother of Asbell, Cedar, and Murdoch. Family meant everything to Ann; her heart and mind were particularly with Josh and Jer and their families.

Ann will be remembered by many people for her caring, unselfish, friendly manner and her ability to listen. Her faith, smile, beautiful blue eyes, and sense of humour will also be remembered fondly. She was an avid reader, was interested in the Royal family, spent many enjoyable hours boating on Long Lake, and loved sharing a good meal with family and friends especially “The Ford Family Special”—beef tenderloin with all the fixings.

During her, more than 35 years in Englehart Ann’s working life included the Englehart Public School, home daycare, Canada Post, and mostly the Northern Credit Union. Ann rarely skipped an opportunity to volunteer in the community; among them were school events and councils, Girl Guides, church, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Englehart Minor Baseball, Teen Boosters, and as a member of Rebekah Lodge.

Ann was predeceased by her father Brian, mother June, and brother Brian (Coco). She will be forever remembered by her siblings Tony (Ellen), Rodney (Anne), Doris; her sisters and brothers-in-law Cindy (Dennis), Chris (Karen), and many nieces and nephews. Ann’s passing has left a big emptiness; she will be profoundly missed.

Cremation has taken place; a Celebration of Life will be at 10:30am on Friday, May 20, 2022 at St. Paul’s Emmanuel Community Church in Englehart.

The family would like to thank all of the people who have provided care and support before and since Ann’s passing.

Donations to  www.psp.org or Englehart Food Bank englehartfoodbank@gmail.com would be appreciated.

My name is Margie Andrews (Auntie Mag to Karen and Chris- I am Karen's Aunt).

I only remember talking to Ann once and that was at a shower that I had for Karen, without Karen, before she was married. Karen couldn't get here from Montreal but I wanted to have something for her and because my Mother and Karen's grandmother had so many mutual friends from our Church there were many people who wanted to wish Karen and Chris luck and good fortune on their upcoming wedding.
I remember sitting on the piano bench with Ann and having a lovely chat. She had car trouble and we were watching out the window for whoever it was that was coming to get her.
I have heard so much about Joshua and Jeremy over the years from Jessica and of course saw their picture at Nick's wedding this past summer.
I am so glad Karen and Chris travelled up North to see you Randy, and Ann when they were here last.
They kept me updated on Ann over the years and what a long journey it has been for all of you. Your love and caring Randy must have been so comforting for Ann. Karen and Kris sent me this lovely write up about Ann and all the wonderful things she did. She made a big difference in this world.
I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking about all of you and I am sending you love and prayers.

Margie Andrews.
