I just learned of Anne’s passing from Charlie Angus’ FB post. My condolences to Anne’s family. She was a wonderful friend to my parents, Rose & Dick Hunter and worked for many years with my Dad as well as being a great travel companion with my Mom. Anne was a wonderful, caring person and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Condolences to Annes family I always enjoyed her visits to BC. She spent time here with my late sister Katy Dmytruck. My fondest memory is of the time I took her on a hike up Elephant mountain tp Pulpit Rock. This was very significant for Anne as she had a fear of heights. She was very proud of this accomplishment. I also recall our visit with Anne in Kirkland Lake in 2011.

Condolences to all of Annes family. We always enjoyed her visits out here in Nelson BC. I always recall her courage when she hiked up to Pulpit Rock with us despite her fear of heights. She will be missed.

A dear friend from high school days. We go back a very lng way. I will cherish many fond memories of anne. My condolences to her family.

We were saddened to hear of Anne,s passing. She was always so pleasant and kind. We had many conversations about recipes, knitting and the news of the day. She was such a dear and will be missed. Our condolences to family and her good friends Brian and Gale Hamilton

Im very saddened at the loss of such a great friend and person. Its not often in ones life you come across an Anne. We never got to spend as much time together as I wanted. Work always seemed to get in the way. She would often call me to come over and troubleshoot her computer problems, thinking she was putting me out. I, in turn, would run over with my knitting looking for a fix to my latest mess, thinking I was putting her out. In truth, neither of us thought we were being inconvenienced in any way. We were happy we could help one another. Thats a relationship made in heaven. I will miss her kindness and friendly disposition. Anne was a great example for me and influenced me to be a better person. I will remember her for her willingness to make allowances for others shortcomings, for accepting things that could not be changed and taking good care of herself. She taught me how important self-care really is. Its not too many senior citizens that make their way down to the gym a couple times a week to make sure they stay fit as a fiddle. Anne had stamina. She worked tirelessly in and around her yard, always making sure things were well kept and in working order. I will miss looking out my window and seeing her on her way to do her daily chores. If I needed an ear, which I often did, Anne always made herself available with a hot tea and a muffin. She was just always there. Anne, you are irreplaceable. I miss you already. Thank you for all your gifts of experience, wisdom and kindness. I will use them wisely.

I am crying as I read this Lorraine. Thank you for your Tuesday and Thursday visits up to the hospital. Thank you for the photos. Thank you for being a dear friend to our Auntie Anne.

We will fondly remember our friend Anne from our days on First Street. Anne was a wonderful person who could always be counted on. We shared walks around the hospital block, her garden, her knitting, occasional meals, and of course adventures in search of a better world. Anne was a great neighbour and friend and will be missed.

To Tara and Lor So sad to hear of Aunt Anne’s passing. She has been on my mind a lot lately. I tried to connect with her a year or so ago on F.B. Her and I were neighbors, friends, walking buddies and she taught me how to knit and bailed me out when I had errors to fix. Rest in peace Anne. You lived a rich and full life in the old Breland home.

Anne R.I.P. you were a great Lady. I remember your years as Sec. of the United Steel Workers, and all the political campaigns we worked together with Doc Ames and Arnold Peters, N.D.P. Party . you will be missed by many.

We will always have fond memories of our dear friend & neighbour of the past 40 years….we sooo enjoyed her ‘joy’ watching our sons grow, comparing our knitting projects, enjoying new recipes & sharing baked goodies. Anne had a life well lived & will be truly missed…..????
