I wish to express my condolences to Ben’s family. I had the fortunate opportunity to work with Ben at Northern College. Ben was a dedicated, professional, sincere, humble, teacher who was a respected role model for his students. Likewise, his contribution to the Kirkland Lake community will be greatly missed.

Our most sincere condolences to your family. We will remember Ben as a gentle person with a jovial laugh and a great wit, especially at choir practices! He was so dedicated to his family, his church, and his great love of music. As the years passed, Ben and I met occasionally when shopping for groceries, and he was always so friendly and concerned. He will be missed.

We just sent our yearly Christmas greeting off to Ben when we read of his passing. We are shocked and saddened to learn of his death. Ben and Jenny were wonderful friends for years. Doug worked with Ben at Northern College for decades and had the greatest respect for his knowledge and abilities. Ben always had a screwdriver in his pocket and used it well. Our condolences go to his family. Ben was a core member of the Kirkland Lake community and will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

To the family and friends of Ben: My sincere condolences to all. I knew Ben as a very loving humble and giving person. He was never too busy to stop and talk and was always more interested in the other person and what they had to say. He will be greatly missed, but I have no doubt that he will be with God at Christ’s birthday celebration. I pray that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will bless Ben’s family and friends, and that He will comfort you at this time of your loss. May you be blessed with God’s Love and Peace. Eternal Rest grant unto Ben, O Lord, and may Your Perpetual Light shine upon him forever.

John & Stephen, So sorry to hear about your Dad. We have such good memories of spending time with your parents — I can still hear your Dad’s great laugh! And no matter what was broken at our house, Uncle Ben was sure to be able to fix it!! I hope you can take solace in the fact he will be missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families now. Joanne, Ravi, Nevin & Simon

Dear John and members of the family When we loose a loved one like a parent it is always hard to see them leave us but as Christians we know that we will join them again someday where there is no more sorrow or pain In my opinion your Father was welcomed in Heaven by Jesus open arms and probably with words like ” Welcome Home Ben many here have been waiting for this day to share with you their Joy of being in God’s Retirement Home” I would have liked to be at the service in Kirkland Lake but has the President and C E O of the Joseph Fortin Foundation I have a Christmas dinner appointment tomorrow at 5:30 pm with members of the executives. A donation will be made to the Joseph Fortin Foundation who also provides financial assistance to people who need to travel out of town for Cancer treatments. May the God of Love that we know give you the Peace and Joy that the Christmas Season brings. Fern
