BLAIN, Carmelle

1947 - 2021

It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Carmelle Blain (née Perreault) on June 4, 2021, at the age of 73 years old. Carmelle passed away peacefully at the Temiskaming Hospital after a long battle against pancreatic cancer. In her final days, she was surrounded by her spouse Douglas Ebert and her children Natalie and Réjean Blain. Her courage and strength were admired during these difficult times.

Born on December 29, 1947, in St-Bruno-de-Guigues, Quebec, she was the daughter of Antoine and Lucienne Perreault (née Paquin). Carmelle is survived by her spouse Douglas Ebert, her brother Marcel Perreault (Debbie Marshall) and her sister Thérèse Tassé. She will be forever loved and remembered by her children: Natalie, Richard and Réjean Blain (Melanie Bauman) and her cherished granddaughters: Kyla and Renée. Over the years, Carmelle kept in close contact with the extended Blain family.

Carmelle was a loving and devoted mother and friend. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her gentleness and great sense of humour. In her spare time, she enjoyed hosting family dinners, cooking, reading, walking, and playing cards. During Christmas time, she was known for her excellent’ tourtières’, her apple pies and her short bread cookies. Carmelle loved to play cards and was competitive. She would challenge her adversary and manage to win many games. Good times were shared with her family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Barron and the staff at the Temiskaming Hospital for their exceptional care.

As per Carmelle’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will hold a ceremony at the Sacred-Heart cemetery in New Liskeard followed by a Celebration of Life to be held this summer (date and location to be confirmed).
