MCPHEE, Courtney

2021

On December 31st, 2021 Courtney Daniel McPhee passed away peacefully in his sleep.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Claire (Leclerc), his daughter Linda and his granddaughter Robyn. Lovingly forever remembered by his children Robert (Jayne), Susan, Brenda (Rob), James and Dennis as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was a loving family man who always put others before himself and welcomed everyone into his life and home. For those lucky enough to have known him, he will be remembered as a wonderful, smart, funny, hard-working, very intelligent, honest, and giving man with a beautiful smile. In his 95 years, he made a difference in many lives and will be remembered fondly. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, camping, and cross-country skiing.

He was a proud veteran of the second world war before coming home to work in the mines in the Kirkland Lake area. Soon after, he met the love of his life, Claire. They married on December 27th, 1946, and shared a full and loving 61 years together raising their 6 children and welcoming many grandchildren and great-grandchildren along the way. During those years he changed careers to become a Property Assessor for the province of Ontario before retiring in 1993.

Living at Teck Pioneer Residence since 2015, he was treated with the utmost respect, love, and compassion. Many thanks to the staff for making his last years enjoyable and comforting.

A spring burial and Celebration of Life will be announced in the coming months. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Teck Pioneer Residence.

I can't begin to express in words what your father has meant to me all these years.
Thinking of all of you at this time as we celebrate the life of such a great man.
Court's honesty and compassion to everyone that came into contact with him will always be fondly remembered.
We will celebrate his life on lakes and around campfires where we will share stories of his great sense of humor and the lessons he was always trying to get across through his story telling.
I will miss you my friend, God's speed back to Claire, Linda and Robyn
Rest In Peace ........ Love You!

Always looked forward to the afternoon tea breaks I would have with him and Aunt Claire. He will be dearly missed. Heaven has become a better place. Sending our love and prayers

I am very saddened to hear of Uncle Courtneys passing. He and Aunt Claire were so friendly with an open door policy. Always enjoyed visiting your parents, with Mom, when she moved South. I have many memories of him, including the stories Mom and Aunt Marie told me of them growing up. R.I.P. Uncle Court. Love Cindy

The family of Courtney

Memories of Courtney are rich with the goodness he was. Bruce and I loved Courtney and often we would visit his home. We were welcomed and always felt right at home. Bruce would talk about how much he loved Courtney and then talked about their fun hunting trips.
I’m thankful Courtney was unaware that Bruce had died and also Bruce didn’t have to mourn Courtney. I’m sure they are fishing and hunting together again. Love to all.

We were very sad to hear of your Dads passing. We used to meet him before at the
foodland where he chatted about fishing with Garry and of course his brothers
who we knew (especially Bruce and Bunny) they were quite the family. Our thoughts
are with you all.
