MCINALL, David

1946 - 2021

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, David “Dave” Gordon McInall Sr of New Liskeard. Dave passed away at the Temiskaming Hospital on Sunday, July 4th at age 75 after a short and thankfully merciful battle with cancer.

He was born on May 18th, 1946 in Sudbury to James and Dorothy McInall and moved to New Liskeard at age 10 where he spent most of his adulthood alongside his loving wife of almost 52 years, Kathy.

Dave is survived by Kathy and their three children Heather (Ryan Soucie) David Jr, and Shannon, as well as their four grandchildren Darien, Alexandra, Jasmyn and Kassidy. His siblings Jim McInall (Ann) of Port Credit, Lynda Walsh of North Bay, Sue Desjardins (Fern) of Alexandria, and Craig McInall of Red Deer, Alberta as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, James and Dorothy McInall as well as his sister Gloria and brother Rob.

Dave was a well-known member of the Temiskaming area and enjoyed chatting with anyone he crossed paths with, whether during his many years driving the transit or school busses, or out and about in the community. He always made time to catch up with an old friend, or lend a helping hand to anyone in need as he went about his daily life.

He was an avid hobby enthusiast whose passion for model aircraft and airplanes of any kind were second only to the love he had for his family.

Dave was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, both as a cadet in his youth and as an officer later on.  Air Cadets gave Dave a perfect opportunity to use his passion for airplanes and flying to impart wisdom and guidance to future pilots.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the staff at the Temiskaming Hospital as well as Closing the Gap and Care Partners for their help and care during Dad’s illness.

An informal Celebration of Life will be organized at a later date once Covid-19 restrictions ease more and extended families are able to travel and attend.

Donations to the Salvation Army Church in New Liskeard would be greatly appreciated on his behalf.

Please accept my condolences on David's passing. I recognized him right away when I saw his picture of Facebook. It has been a long time since we saw each other Lynda.

Our condolences to you and your family. We lived across the street from you for 25 years. I enjoyed chatting with Dave many times when I was out walking my dog.

My condolences Auntie K. I have fond memories of Uncle Dave hanging out and playing with Heather around the house when we were kids. I’m thinking about you all and hope you are doing ok. Take care.
