RAYCRAFT, Donald Lynn

1954 - 2023

Donald Lynn Raycraft, referred to as Lynn, born January 8, 1954 passed away on July 31, 2023 at age 69.

Loving father to Tara-Lee (Eric Forsyth), Stephanie, Jennifer (Bryan Rakowski), Jesse (Haley Walsh), Jayme (Alex Loewen), and loving grandpa to Lily Forsyth, Kailey Forsyth, Audry Raycraft, and Anin Raycraft.

Survived by his mother Thelma Raycraft and siblings Faye Raycraft (Nelson Caetano), Neil Raycraft, Holly Kerr (Peter Kerr), and his dear friends Wanda Raycraft and Ken Butler.

A lover of all things outdoors; fishing, camping, hiking, and barbequing. A creator at heart, always using his gifts to spread love and joy to those around him. A musician who welcomed everyone to partake in his campfire jams. His passing is deeply felt by all who loved him.

“The number of hours we have together is not actually so large. Please linger near the door uncomfortably instead of just leaving. Please forget your scarf in my life and come back later for it.” – Mikko Harvey

Remembering all of the wonderful times we shared together. It feels like yesterday. You were a kind person, loved by all who had the privilege of being a part of your life.

Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not.

Gone, but never forgotten

Spread your wings and fly.

Our deepest, heartfelt sympathies go out to all the family. May you all find comfort in the memories you cherish.

Love forever Wendy and Ben

Lynn was our great friend since the mid 70's, we lived across the street from him and the girls. No matter where we kept moving to, Lynn would always be there visiting with us, even all the way to Sault Ste Marie with Jayme on their BC motorcycle trip. Lots of weekend trips to Muskoka and sitting and singing around the campfire, we always felt we had Gordie Lightfoot right there with us! Lots and lots of Messenger chats over the years and especially the last couple of years almost daily. We will miss Lynn dearly. He was definitely apart of our Family. Rest In Peace...

You guys probably won’t remember me but I met you as kids at a Tenneco picnic. Your dad and I worked together at the plant for a lot of years. We both had backgrounds in the plating industry and similar interest outside the plant through woodworking, motorcycles, music and golden retrievers.
As part of a team, your dad was instrumental in improving the performance of the plant and safety of the operations for our staff.
We used to take lunch together and he told me all about the graceful young skater who became an incredible scholar and about the budding guitarist who quickly surpassed his dad as a musician. I know about the trip on the Harley out west and the life off the grid up north. He loved you both so much.
I hope that Max is waiting for him and there is someone there to listen to his stories about you.

The whole family

I can’t put into words how sorry I am about Lynn’s passing. I wish I could be there with you.
Lynn was one of my favourite people. From the very 1st day I met him, he stood up for and defended me at a time when that never happened for me. I have so many great memories of Lynn and so many treasures that he made for me over the years. He was a great man and will be so missed by so many.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Love you all.

I unfortunately never got to know your dad but the thing I did get to know was how much you loved him and the massive impact he had on your life.

I feel honoured to have a beautiful handmade frame hanging in my home that shows off the amazing craftsmanship of your dad.

Sending a big hug and so much love. Kass

Sorry for the loss of your dad. As kids we can remember him making us all laugh and smile every time he was around. More recently, I (Lee) had the opportunity to curl with your dad a few times. He was fun on the ice and I enjoyed our conversations after the games. We are thinking about both of you and all of your family.

Lynn’s family and friends

I worked with Lynn at Tenneco in Owen Sound for many years. I actually got to know him before that when he worked for contractors. What a great guy to work with. Common sense. Great skills. Good stories. Lots of laughs.
