Pinkney, Donald Gordon

Peacefully with family by his side on March 14, 2023 at the Temiskaming Lodge after a battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Don Pinkney, age 83 years, beloved husband of Helen for 61 years. Loving father of his 4 children, Gordon (Mary-Lee), David (Pauline), Jane (Duane Regimbal), Lianne (Gavin Park) and his grandchildren Micheal, Camille and Karina. Dear brother of Bob.

Don was born in Toronto and moved to Temiskaming in 1970. He was an elementary school teacher for 36 years, and loved every minute of it. Don was a long-time member of the Cobalt Lion's Club, an avid bowler and golfer, and always had a joke to tell you.

Funeral Mass will be held at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish at 11 am, Saturday, March 25 with visitation from 10 am to 11 am. A luncheon will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice.

Mrs. Helen Pinkney and family,

Deepest sympathy.
Mr. Pinkney was my grade 8 teacher at St. Pats in Cobalt in the early 70s.
He was a great teacher and a super person.
Had the pleasure of catching up with him when him and Mrs. Pinkney did their daily walk at Mall in New Liskeard.
He will be missed.

The Family

Uncle Don could light up a room and make people laugh. I may be the youngest of the cousins, but I remember from a young age his never ending humor, laugh and smile.

Rest well good sir.

Helen, please accept our deepest condolences at Dons’s passing. It was my pleasure to work with both you and Don when I was a teacher and later as a principal at St. Pats. His humour and dedication to his students was notable. I can imagine that you and your children will miss him terribly. His last years must have been difficult.
You are in our thoughts and prayers as you journey forward.

Sincere condolences on the loss of Don.
I was in Don’s first grade 8 class at St. Pat’s. He took a class of students from 4 different towns and molded us into a cohesive group. We had so much fun that year. Don had a huge impact on so many throughout his years of teaching. He will be missed by many, especially his family.
