Gordon Oscar Klockars,

GORDON OSCAR KLOCKARS,

2021

Gordon Oscar Klockars, “The Klock”, passed away comfortably at Extendicare on October 21, 2018 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, at the age of 77.
Gord is survived by his wife, Paula (nee Choloniuk); his children Adam, Tyler, and Robin Klockars; sibling Paul (Carole) Klockars; nephew Karl (Robin) Klockars of Ottawa,ON; and niece Kimberley (Tom) Young of Sesekinika,ON. He is preceded in death by his parents Karl Oscar Klockars and Elna Sofia Klockars (nee Sjolund).
Gord was born in 1941 in Kirkland Lake to Oscar and Sofia Klockars. He was a well-known and creative welder that worked at Adam’s Mine, taught welding and drafting at KLCVI, and welded with the United Plumber and Pipefitters Union. The most important thing in Gord’s life was his children and they will miss the “bigger than life” character that he was. He loved the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and cruising around Lake Sesekinika. He was a loyal friend and would drop everything to help a friend in need. Gord was a true Northern boy and lived his life with extreme and unconventional gusto. Almost everyone has a “Gordie” story and they are all probably true.
A Celebration of “The Klock’s” life will be held Saturday, November 17, at the White Eagle Bar starting at 1:00 pm. Come and share your stories with Gordie’s family and friends at one of the last of his regular watering holes. Offer Condolence for the family of Gordon Oscar Klockars

They say the ‘mother load’ of gold in KL was never found. This is not true. The mother load of gold was hiding in Gord Klockers heart.

We are both saddened to hear of Gordie’s passing. Please accept our prayers and sincere condolences to you Paula, Adam, Tyler, and Robin, I still laugh to this day, He continuously reminded me that he changed my diapers as a child and that I should always respect my elders. We have certainly missed your sense of humour and stories and will for many days to come.
