It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts, the family and friends of James McPhee announces his sudden passing on Saturday August 19th 2023. James passed away in his sleep at his residence at Teck Pioneer in Kirkland Lake Ontario.

James was the beloved father of Ashley(Keizer), Shylo and Jamie McPhee. The grandfather of Tatum Mackellar, Cecilia and Linkin Burkholder/McPhee, the son of Claire and Courtney McPhee. The brother of Bob(Jayne)McPhee, Susan McPhee, Brenda(Rob)Mcphee, Linda McPhee, Dennis McPhee, ex husband to Lisa Renaud, and uncle and friend to many more. Predeceased to James was his parents Claire Leclerc and Courtney McPhee, his sister Linda Mcphee, and niece Robyn McPhee. Lastly he will be greatly missed by many friends and family he has touched through out his 62 years on this beautiful earth he loved very much.

James was a family man. He always loved being outdoors and being with his family camping at Esker Lakes Provincial Park every summer. Portaging the many lakes with his father and oldest daughter and many others. James was a happy man and always wore a big smile on his face, especially after getting his new dentures. James like his parents always had an open door and was always there for anyone who needed comfort or just a friend to talk to. He was a great listener and had many amazing life stories and accomplishments to share. James was a great Trout fisherman and enjoyed making his own fly fishing lures. He also like building model cars and race tracks in his basement workshop. He often spent many hours in the backyard building ice rinks so his daughters could enjoy winter activities. James had a huge loving heart and touched the lives of so many friends and family and he will be deeply missed.

The family of James would like to thank the staff and members of Teck Pioneer Residence for their incredible loving care and support throughout his residency.

Any donations in memory of James can be made to Teck Pioneer Residence or to the Heart and Stroke foundation.

We invite all friends and family to join us at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery on Saturday September 2nd at 11am followed by a luncheon & celebration of life at the Kirkland Lake Legion in the Larry Brown Room.

Jimmy's Family

My deepest condolences to Jimmy's family; he was a kind sole with a big heart. Growing up with Jimmy there was never a dull moment. Many camping trips were spent at Easker Lake with his family. I will always remember him for his beautiful smile and his laugh. You could always find him in his parents basement rocking out
( head banging) to his music. RIP Jimmy, your journey on earth is done but the beautiful memories you leave behind will always remain. Until

Jimmy’s Family

We would like to send our heartfelt condolences to Jimmy’s family. I have so many wonderful memories growing up and the time I spent with Jimmy. Taking the bulbs off the Christmas tree to play paddle ball down in the basement with Jimmy, Dennis and myself. Aunt Claire screaming “Jimmy where’s the Christmas tree bulbs?” Jimmy and I took Uncle Courtney’s skidoo without permission and hit a tree stump ripping the bottom of the skidoo apart. Jimmy was as white as a ghost. He said my dads gonna kill me. This is just a small part of the many memories we shared growing up. I will miss commenting on his posts on Facebook. He will be very dearly missed. Love you cous!!!
