DEACON, Jeanette – On Wednesday November 22, 2023, Jeanette Deacon (nee Froment), loving wife of William (Bill) Deacon, died peacefully at Northview Nursing Home in Englehart.

She was born in Edmonton on June 14, 1934, to Hortense and Lucien Froment. While a young child, she and her family moved to Noranda, Quebec. On September 30, 1950, she married Bill in Noranda. They raised their children Jim and Donna in Kirkland Lake and then Englehart. Jeanette was active in the community throughout most of her life. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada, volunteered at the Englehart Library and with the Girl Guides and Brownies. She was involved in preparing meals at community events and is remembered by family and friends for her baking. She enjoyed curling, bowling and being with relatives and friends.

In keeping with Jeanette’s wishes she has been interred at the Englehart Cemetery along side the remains of Bill. She did not want a funeral service.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Englehart Food Bank or a charity of your choice. Jeanette’s family thanks the staff of Northview Nursing home and their medical professionals for the excellent care.

The Deacon Family

Our sincere sympathies with the loss of Jeanette. She was a wonderful volunteer who gave of herself whenever and wherever she could lend a helping hand. She kept many of us on our toes while training us to do things properly which most of us appreciated. Rest in peace, Jeanette. You deserve it!

Jim and Donna

Our sincere condolences on the passing of Jeanette, she was instrumental in helping me get involved with Holy Trinity Catholic Church. I was able to bring Jeanette communion while at the Northview Nursing Home. For the past few years, she was unable to take communion, so I blessed her with Holy Water and said prayers to her. I was always hoping she would be able to speak to me. I will pray for her and have a mass said for her.
