She will be greatly missed by her three children: Bev Cook (Ted) of Brighton, Barry Scott (late Penny) of Metcalfe and Cathy Campbell (Don) of King Kirkland. Also mourning her passing are grandchildren Sean (Carrie) and Scott (Lisa) Cook; Jennifer Scott-Easterman (Ted) and Ryan Scott (Trish); Michael Campbell (Jessica), Jane Gauthier(Adam) and Alison Campbell (Derek). Great-grandmother to Joey, Chalsie, Ethan, Dylan, & Jillian Cook; Juliet Easterman, Parker, and Emery Gauthier. She will also be missed by Ron’s sons, Brian (late Kathy), Gary (Sue) and Dean (Tracy).

Born Margaret Joan Parker in Iroquois Falls, to the late Thomas Parker and Mary Sweet, Joan lived most of her life in Kirkland Lake along with her eight siblings: Lloyd, Bill, Bud, Len and Larry Parker, Jean Holman, Kaye Thorn, and Claire Maloney who pre-deceased her many years ago. Joan had a successful career with the Municipality, was active in Holy Name Church, her Sorority and Bridge Clubs. She enjoyed a long retirement spent travelling, visiting family and summers at Ron’s cottage. For the past five years has been a resident of TPR.

The family would like to offer sincere thanks to the staff at Teck Pioneer Residence for their care and compassion. Those wishing to do so, may donate in Joan’s memory to Teck Pioneer Residence or the Charity of their choice. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held in the summer.

Family Of Joan Waldron

Please accept my condolences on the passing of your mother, your grandmother, your great-grandmother. Her and my mom, Teresa Toohey (Connolly) were best of friends in the old days in Kirkland Lake, they were the same age. The last time I brought my Mom to Kirkland Lake, we spent a nice long visit with your Mom in Tek Pioneer. She called my Mom "Tess" which was a nickname from when they were girls. My Mom passed away in February of 2021, but I'm confident that they are friends again in heaven. I sent your mom a prayer card and a Christmas card, and she sent me a nice note back. My Mom thought the world of Joan. If someone from your family reaches out to me, I have what I think is a very nice picture of Joan from the old days. The Funeral Home will have my e-mail when I post this message.
