John “Jack” Plummer

February 23, 1939- August 31, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce Jack’s passing in his 86th year at Teck Pioneer Residence in Kirkland Lake on Sunday, August 31st, 2025. He was predeceased by his parents Alvin and Marguerite Plummer of Monteith, and brother Earl of Ottawa. Jack is survived and deeply missed by his beloved wife Cecile; his children Susan (David) Brown of Kirkland Lake, and Larry (Tammy) Plummer of Caledonia; his dear grandchildren Kassey Plummer, Megan (Drew) Held, Kara Brown, Shannon (Jordan) Allen, Emma Plummer and Nathan Plummer; his precious great grandchildren Dawson, Hailey, Arya and Mackie. He will be greatly missed by his family, especially his sister Nancy and brothers Ted and Sheldon.

Jack was born in Flint, Michigan and moved to Monteith at age 8. He worked on and loved the family farm with a passion. Jack attended elementary school in Monteith and secondary in Iroquois Falls. He excelled in every sport and continued his athletic regiment until nearly 80 years old. Jack worked in correctional services and enjoyed the many people he met along the way. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and camping, especially with his grandchildren who were his world. We will always remember swimming in Nipissing, skiing at Canadore, and the late-night trips to the fridge to sneak apples and peanut butter cookies. Jack was a kind soul, always helping others and enjoyed being a practical joker.
