Joseph Hrbolich,

JOSEPH HRBOLICH,

2021

Hrbolich, Joseph; April 8, 1937 – September 18, 2017 – With heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing of Joseph Hrbolich at the Kirkland and District Hospital on Monday, September 18 surrounded by his loving family.  Predeceased by his parents Marko and Ljuba, sister Yvonne (John deceased) and nephew Brian.  Survived by Geraldine, his loving wife of 57 years, and his children Janet (Howard), Maureen (Robert), Lorna, Joanne (Ivan), Marty (Tracy) and his niece, Kathy.  Joe was a well-known figure in the community.  He served 35 years as the Public Health Inspector and then enjoyed an active retirement.  He was an avid athlete and sports fan.  Joe played basketball for the Northern Ontario (KLCVI) and All Ontario (Men’s League) basketball titles.  His fastball team of Joe Dash competed against top teams from the north with many exciting playoff games over the years. He enjoyed reminiscing about these teams.  Joe loved the game of golf. He was a member of the Kirkland Lake Golf Club for 57 years serving on the executive, competing in tournaments, playing countless rounds, and giving helpful tips to family and friends. He was a loyal fan of the Leafs, Argos, Jays and Raptors.  Joe also enjoyed fishing, soup and wine making, watching any sporting event on TV, and coffee banter with the boys.  Above all, his dedication to his family was his number one priority.  His guidance and words of wisdom will be with us always.  He will be forever loved and missed.
