ROMAN, Joseph

1925 - 2021

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of our father, Joseph 'Nick' Roman, aged 96. He was very recently predeceased by his wife and soulmate, Thora Roman. He is survived by children Neil (Helen), Sylvia, and Anna; five grandchildren - Charlotte, Michael, Nicolas, David and Matthew; sister Tenny Holmes; sister-in-law Patricia Morton; and many more who loved and respected this great man. He is also survived by Charlie the Squirrel and too many Chipmunks to mention by name. Our dad left us as he lived - with resolve and strength. He was a man of character, integrity and honour. He was a gentleman who respected wisdom and courage, but also kindness. His life's focus was his wife and family, his career, world travel, and life at the cottage; where all people and creatures were welcome. Some of his favourite memories, like our mother's, were in South Africa, and morning coffee and evening bonfires at Sesekinika Lake. Though we will miss him and his wise counsel dearly, we are comforted knowing that he is at peace and back with the love of his life. As was their choice, he and our mother have been cremated. There are no arrangements at this time. "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day."
