HERRON, Keith

1953 - 2023

It is with great sadness that the Herron family announces the passing of Keith James Herron on Saturday December 9th, 2023 at the age of 70 at Blanche River Health in Kirkland Lake. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.

Beloved husband of Marlene Herron (nee Castonguay). Loving father of Kurtis (Renée) and Amanda.  He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Katherine and Beauregard.  He was predeceased by his brother Dennis and his parents Glenn and Ellen (nee Cook).

Keith was a millwright by trade and a jack of all trades when it came to family or his own projects.  He took enjoyment in the outdoors and being active and loved working on projects in his garage.

As per Keith’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service.

The family would like to thank the staff at Blanche River Health - Kirkland Lake Site and Health Sciences North in Sudbury for their compassion, care, and expertise. We would also like to thank VON - North East District for the dedication and care provided at home.

Should you wish to make a donation in Keith’s memory, please consider the Timiskaming Hospice Palliative Care or the House of Kin, Sudbury.

Marlene, Amanda, Kurtis.
Keith mentioned he wanted to enjoy one more good summer and because of his determination and all the family support, we would say, that he accomplished that. It was the best summer he could have hoped for. Still, our hearts hurt with the news of his passing.
He will be missed. If there is a person who deserves to rest in peace, it is Keith.
We send our most sincere condolences.

The Herron Family

As I read the condolences from many who knew Keith, it is so obvious that he was a Pillar of a man. I also grew up with Keith and I was saddened to hear about his passing. We got to see him about five years ago when we visited Larder and it was so nice to sit on his front deck and look over that beautiful lake we all love so much while we reminisced about the old days. Rest in peace Keith.

Please accept our sympathies. I first met Keith over 30 years ago when we worked at the Kerr Mine for several years. Keith was an excellent millwright who could fix everything while maintaining his sense of humour and a smile on his face. In more recent years, we would meet at a store in Kirkland Lake and always stopped to chat. Keith was so proud of his children. RIP Keith, old buddy.
