Marianne and I enjoyed many years of having you as our grandmother. Thank-you for loving Bob so well, for many meals, crochet lessons and fun stories. You never hesitated to tackle the tough questions and help me through some trying times. Never was there a grandma as fearless both in the woods and in life. Come to think of it; no grandmother has ever lugged such a giant cooker through the wilderness around Larder Lake… Wish I had spent more time with you and Bob over the years. You will be missed.

I would like to send my heartfelt condolences to you all. I am the grand daughter of Ella and Paul Reimer, and I remember meeting Linda when I was very young and visiting northern Ontario. I do remember her as a warm and very smiling person! Having lost my mother and father, I know the pain, but I also know the magic that fond memories and reminiscing can provide in terms of healing. It is my hope that you can find that healing and remember all of the wonderful times you experienced with her.

Mom’s favorite hymn was “Breathe on me Breath of God” – 1. Breathe on me, Breath of God, Fill me with life anew, That I may love what Thou dost love, And do what Thou wouldst do. 2. Breathe on me, Breath of God, Until my heart is pure, Until my will is one with Thine, To do and to endure. 3. Breathe on me, Breath of God, Till I am wholly Thine, Until this earthly part of me Glows with Thy fire divine. 4. Breathe on me, Breath of God, So shall I never die, But live with Thee the perfect life Of Thine eternity. Love you Mom – Love Mike, Cindy, Rhiannon, Autumn, Shane and Crockett

I am so sorry to hear this. She touched all of our Dougan lives, we almost felt we were Estonians too! Even now when I hear someone say they are of Estonian descent I want to say “me too!” but then I tell them of this wonderful lady who made us sauerkraut and barley on Sunday afternoons, and loved us like a Grandma. When we didn’t have a Grandmother nearby, she filled a place in our hearts and meant so much to us. She was such an amazing person. Love and hugs, Rebecca and Greg Joncas, Noah, Kathleen, Mary, Timothy, Jonah, Joshua, Zoe, William, Peter and Laura-Mae of Red Deer, Alberta.
