TONELLO, Liviano "Lou"

1930 - 2022

Liviano “Lou” Tonello died at Teck Pioneer Residence on August 24. Lou was predeceased by his mother Eugenia and father Giovanni. Lou was also predeceased by his siblings Batistin, Emilia, Dino, Rita, Ida, Noemi, Salvatore and Danilo. Lou is survived by his son-in-law Ian Cooper and numerous nieces and nephews. Lou was born in Mansue, Italy and came to Canada in 1952 with his brother Salvatore. While his brother stayed only two years, Lou began his life in Canada working underground at the Lakeshore mine. After 17 years, he began working for the town, cutting the snow with the grading in the winter and sweeping the streets in the summer. Lou was an excellent dancer and he loved to bowl. He became part of the Italo-Canadian club and made many lifelong friends. Lou married Anne-Marie McGraw and together they had a daughter Nadia. Lou loved Nadia fiercely and would do whatever he could to help her. Sadly both Anne-Marie and Nadia died early in their lives. Lou was surrounded by good friends, they would hunt fish and make wine together. Lou loved sharing a drink and food with his friends; Vito, Bruno, Felice, Pete and Dominic. Lou was an excellent cook and hosted many dinners for his family and friends. Lou was a force of nature. He made an impression on all who knew him. He was stubborn as he was generous. He will leave a big hole in the lives of those who knew him. Special thank you to the people at TPR who made his days memorable. If desired, donations in Lou's memory may be directed to Teck Pioneer Residence, 145A Government Road East, Kirkland Lake, ON P2N 3P4.

So sorry to hear of Lou Lou's passing.
Lou and Ann Marie were my God parents.
He loved fishing, every spring on the pickerel run, Lou and Ann Marie would take us fishing to Crooked Creek. We would always get fish, The next day would be a fish fry at 2 Station.
Lou was a Big part of the D'Andrea family.
Will be always missed.

Lou came into my life 2 years ago and he took a part of my heart. He was the Italian stallion, with so much love, humour, smiles and stubbornness.. he loved to joke with his girls at TPR. And boy never forget his wine at supper or Stoke 84 at bedtime… Lou dog I love you and will forever miss you ❤️❤️
