PAAVOLA, Matti

In loving memory of Jyrki Veli-Matti Paavola, who peacefully passed away at the Teck Pioneer Residence in Kirkland Lake on April 4^th, 2020. Predeceased by parents Tauno and Kaarina (Hakko) Paavola, brother Peter Paavola, and sister Maya Schell. Remembered fondly by brothers John and Ray, nieces Jaana Pearson Paavola (Briana) and Megan Leslie (Brendan), and nephew Jonas Pearson Paavola. Matti was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman. He was especially proud of his traditional Finnish sauna which he gladly shared with family and many friends. May he rest in peace.

Ray Paavola

Eileen and I were just reminiscing about the great times at Matti's farm. Saunas,black flies,croquet,mosquitoes,beers, deer flies, smoked carp and more black flies. Good times.

Will miss seeing him on our trips to Kirkland Lake. A great guy and friend since KLCVI days. Whatever he undertook he displayed that special Finn "Sisu".
