VELEY, May

1936 - 2023

May passed away peacefully the morning of Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Teck Pioneer Residence, Kirkland Lake, at the age of 87. May was born on April 15, 1936 in Springford, Ontario, and born again by the Spirit of God on June 17, 2014. "For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16. Daughter of Ted and Ethel Breeze and big sister to Ernie, Albert, Edward, Betty, and Arthur. Beloved wife of Gerald Veley, who passed away on March 25, 1989. They were wed on September 9, 1962. Loving mother of Philip Veley (Bonnie) and Brenda Veley (Mark). Cherished grandmother of Aaron (Breanna), Matthew (Keanna), Andrew (Tabitha), and Jessica (Sam). Great grandmother of Katie, Louis, Luke, and Stella. May will be dearly missed by her loved ones. She lived most of her life in Hilliardton, Ontario where she enjoyed maintaining her vegetable gardens and many flower gardens. Her favourite flowers were peonies, tiger lilies, and most of all, roses. She also adored animals, known for adopting stray cats and ensuring her many bird feeders were always filled to the top for the local birds and chipmunks. May was a stay-at-home mother who worked hard on the farm, meeting the needs of her children and late husband. She always made time for her four grandchildren and ensured all holidays and special occasions were fun and memorable. A celebration of life and memorial ceremony will be determined at a future time.
