SHARP, Mervyn

In loving memory of Mervyn Sharp who passed away suddenly in his happy place, the golf course on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at the age of 76 years. Loving son of the late David Sharp and of the late Mary Sharp (nee Collison).

Cherished father of Jennifer (Terry Cormier) and loving grand father of Makobe and Sunshine. Mervyn was the brother of Robert (Yijing) Sharp and of the late Richard Sharp. He will be fondly remembered by many friends and golf companions.

Mervyn grew up in New Liskeard and lived here in the town he loved all his life. He was a very proud grandfather and he enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in nature. One of his favorites pass times was golfing, he was a member of the New Liskeard and Haileybury Golf Club. He was very proud of his “Hole in 1” at the Haileybury Golf Club.

A celebration of Life will be held at the New Liskeard Golf Club, 804027 Golf Course Road, New Liskeard on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 11 a.m.

In memory of Mervyn, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

As I mentioned to you Jennifer, I witnessed Merv’s hole in one,, I suggested he put the ball away as a keep sake,, he did not think it necessary but he did,,later asked how he should mount it so as to display it…. Merv always showed up for Friday morning breakfast and golf,,,He had his days when he was a “good” golfer, he always offered tips to reduce our score,, He was a quiet individual who was well liked…Brian Hughes

Sorry to hear about Merv's passing...I worked with Merv at MTO in New Liskeard at the Construction HWY projects in the early 1990's.
Merv was a great supervisor and I remember he was starting to play golf and starting to master his golfing skills.
