Mike Trudeau,

MIKE TRUDEAU,

2021

Mike Trudeau, age 56, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, in Matachewan, Ontario. He was born July 2, 1962, in Penetanguishene, to Audrey and Allan Trudeau and spent his childhood growing up on the shores of Georgian Bay. He married Michelle O’Rourke on October 24, 1981 and in the following years had two children, Josh and Brittany. Mike and Michelle made their life on Georgian Bay, raising their kids and running a successful business; he was a talented and respected carpenter and contractor. His passion was the outdoors and he loved hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was known for his volunteer work throughout his life, from coaching hockey, acting as a volunteer firefighter and contributing significantly to the community of Matachewan in a number of meaningful ways. Mike lived his life to the fullest each and every day, leaving the world and those he touched along the way all the better for having had him in their lives. He is survived by his wife, Michelle; parents, Allan and Audrey; son, Josh (Lisa), daughter, Brittany (Vince); granddaughter, Norah; brothers, Steve (Anne) and Brian (Sue); sisters, Kim (Rob) and Kelly (Pat); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Friends, family and the many people whose lives Mike touched are invited to Saint Ann Roman Catholic Church in Penetanguishene, Ontario on Thursday December 20th at 11:00 am for a service followed by a lunch to grieve and to celebrate Mike’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation – heartandstroke.ca or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada 110-1525 Carling Avenue, Ottawa, ON, K1Z 8R9.Offer Condolence for the family of Mike Trudeau

Teena and I send our sincere and truly deepest sympathies to the sudden passing of Mike, we met mike and his family a few years ago , mike parked his boat at out dock here in Kipawa, Quebec, mike had a cottage on kipawa lake and spent his spare time there, as busy as he was. Mike always took the time to talk to us every time he came up to go to his camp, he will be missed, especially next spring when the lake opens up , it was always a pleasure to see him, he was a great guy, with a genuine smile, Rest In Peace Mike, Turtle narrows will never be the same without you.

Of all the people we gave met in Canada and around the world, Mike and Michelle are two of the very finest. To us, Mike has been a wonerful blend of smart, skilled, kind, gentle, thoughtful, generous, humorous, honorable and modest. His great joie de vivre always shone through and lifted our spirits. Our sadness will never end, but is tiny beside the loss to his family. My brothers Mike and Al (Murray), and our kids Nick and Samantha, join us in wishing that Mike’s family find some solace in the wonderful person that he was.

Randy and Nancy Soence, March 1, 2021

We are sending our deepest sympathies to Michelle, Josh, Brittany, Allan, Audrey, Mikes siblings and other family members. Even as a young boy, Mike was a special person with an ingrained sense of responsibility and work ethic, a quiet sense of humour and an ever-present smile. He was a treasure, through and through. Your loss is great and we hold you in our hearts and prayers. Sending love and hugs.

I was deeply saddened with the news of Mikes passing. He was a true gentleman, a good hearted citizen and his contribution to the Township of Matachewan was priceless. My thoughts and prayers are with Michelle and Josh and Brittany. Heaven has gained another angel. Sincerely Annie Kmyta

Annie Kmyta, March 1, 2021

Mike and his parents, and Michelle and his larger family, welcomed us to Georgian Bay in 1983. He built our first boat and, along with his Dad Alan, helped us “settle” on our island and took care of our spring and fall hook-ups since. He was gracious and caring and shared many “tips” on island life – including where at least some of the biggest fish were. We lived in his land really – and we will miss him and be thinking of his family for many summers to come

Our sincere condolences to you and the rest of family.

It is with great sadness we are writing this condolence message. Our deepest condolences to Michelle, Josh, Brittany, Al, Audrey & extended family. We’ve only known Mike for a few years since he & Michelle moved to Matachewan but it seemed like we had known him for so many years. Mike was a man of true character. The first impression left a mark that would always be memorable. He had such a bubbly personality combined with kindness, respectfulness, happiness, and love for everyone he came in contact with. He was our shining star on Wednesday nights when we played darts. His joking and laughter was infectious and will be deeply missed. It was an absolute pleasure to have met Mike and his memory will be with us forever. May your hearts find healing with all the cherished memories of such a great man! We will miss you Mike. Love from Bernice & Joe XOXO

We have no words fitting or consoling enough. There is no pain or tragedy in life that compares to the devastating loss that follows the death of a beloved child. It is a loss so profound that you have no idea how you will cope with the indescribable journey of survival. Know in your heart that you will find the strength and courage to continue as many have before you. May Michael rise to glory on the gentle breezes of the Georgian Bay that he loved. You loved him, all who knew him loved him but God loved him more. Uncle Ed , Aunt Shirley , Laurie and Dave

To the Trudeau Family: Almost every time I have down times, my memory always goes back to the days of the Manitou Bay Boys From the days of singing and dancing on a roofing job to ring my bell to driving Mikes first sea-flea out board damn near running over his brother Steve at hole-in-thewall one dark night. Night runs into the hoot for 230am French fries!!! And playing rumoli at Pinkney cottage with Mike fixing the cards to collect all those pennies I pinched!!!! 7-8-9 one suit!!! I still am amazed how he always had that hand!! So proud to have been with all of you during our younger years. Always always always have you in our thoughts. My heart aches. My deepest sympathy for Michelle and family. I will never forget. With deepest respect Mark Pinkney
