Deschamps, Norman Joseph Paul, 67 of South Porcupine, ON passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025 after a lengthy battle with cancer surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on January 2, 1958, Norm started his work career as a truck driver and a mechanic at an early age. He recently celebrated 50 years of working as a mechanic. He was always wanting to help others and was able to do so by being an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Norm is survived by his partner Kathleen Hart, brother Roland (Diane) Deschamps, sisters Jeannette Deschamps, Sylvia (Boyd) McKarthy, Claudette Dery, Monique Deschamps and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents Therese and Joseph Deschamps, brother Gerard Deschamps and sister-in-law Dianne Deschamps. An avid car enthusiast with a wicked sense of humor, he loved sharing a quick joke and passing on his knowledge of mechanics to anyone who was willing to listen.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Timmins and District Hospital, Dr. Yates, Dr. Carlson and Dr. Benjelloun for their support through Norm’s journey.
A private burial will be held at a future date. Donations to the oncology department at Timmins and District Hospital or the House of Kin in Sudbury would be greatly appreciated by the family.
