GODMAIRE, Omer

In loving memory of Omer Elie Godmaire who passed away on May 31, 2022 from a courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side.

Omer was predeceased by his parents Emanuel and Rolande Godmaire, his sister Francine Denomme and his son in law Wayne Arsenault.  He will be missed by his wife of 54 years, Rachel; his children Diane, Guy (Heather) and Charlotte (Luc), as well as his grandchildren Jordie (Kate), Makayla, Kaycie, his great grandchild Willow and his brothers, sisters, in-laws and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Omer was born in Uno Park and was the 5^th in a family of 13 children. Rachelle, Andre, Marie, Omer, Leo, Fernand, Janine, Yvette, Louise, Claire, Francine & 2 little girls deceased at birth.

Omer learned to play the fiddle at a young age and started playing for weddings and parties with his siblings all over the area.  He enjoyed farming, traveling, camping and working with heavy equipment.  Between miles & miles of ditching, building roads, serving up cones of French fries and cotton candy, and livening up dance halls with his fiddle tunes, he will play his final fiddle tune at a celebration of life which will be held on Friday June 10, 2022 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m at the Uno Park dance hall.

À la mémoire d'Omer Elie Godmaire qui est décédé le 31 mai 2022 d'une bataille courageuse contre le cancer avec sa famille à ses côtés.

Omer est précédée par ses parents Emanuel et Rolande Godmaire, sa sœur Francine Denomme et son gendre Wayne Arsenault.  Il laisse dans le deuil son épouse de 54 ans, Rachel; ses enfants Diane, Guy (Heather) et Charlotte (Luc), ainsi que ses petits-enfants Jordie (Kate), Makayla, Kaycie, son arrière-petite-fille Willow et ses frères, sœurs, beaux-parents et de nombreux neveux, nièces et cousins.

Omer est né à Uno Park et était le 5e d'une famille de 13 enfants. Rachelle, André, Marie, Omer, Léo, Fernand, Janine, Yvette, Louise, Claire, Francine et 2 petites filles décédées à la naissance.

Omer a appris à jouer du violon à un jeune âge et a commencé à jouer pour les mariages et les fêtes avec ses frères et sœurs partout dans la région.  Il aimait l'agriculture, les voyages, le camping et le travail avec de l'équipement lourd.  Entre les kilomètres de fossés, la construction de routes, le service de cornet de frites et de barbe à papa, et l'animation des salles de danse avec ses airs de violon, il jouera son dernier air de violon lors d'une célébration de la vie qui aura lieu le vendredi 10 juin 2022 de 18 h à 21 h à la salle de danse Uno Park.
