Roch was a good friend and neighbour to us at Kenogami for over forty years. Our cottages were side by side, and we have pleasant memories of watching our children growing up together. Denise was a close playmate to our daughters, Anne Marie and Nancy. We remember them watching T.V. at the Bedard’s cottage. As they were watching Yogi Bear on T.V., they were startled to see a real bear walk by in front of their window. Roch provided the boys with a lovely yellow boat that was always seen on the lake in those early days. He was a great grandpa to Simon, who grew up spending his early summers at the cottage with them, and playing with our grandchildren. Roch and Jeanette were our first passengers on our maiden voyage in our new Wilker boat. When we reached the end of the lake, near the Point at the Bridge, the boat stopped. It was quite embarrassing when we finally had to be towed home by a good samaritan in a little fishing boat. Roch was always available to Stuart when he needed help or advice on projects. Both he and Jeanette took the neighbourhood watch idea seriously and checked on vehicles coming in and out at the cottage when we were not there, which was very much appreciated. They were both there when we needed help unloading our camper van on arrival, following Stuart’s neck surgery, and when the camper van almost blew up behind the cottage when the propane tank became overheated in the hot weather. What excitement that day, when several fire trucks arrived. All’s well that ends well. Again, Roch was calm and gave us good advice, to not try to move the vehicle. Get togethers over coffee and desserts, or neighbourhood pot lucks for special occasions, are fond memories we will always cherish. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers, Jeanette. Hope to see you soon. Love, Stuart & Ruth Little and family

Jeanette, Denise, Paul and Marc My thoughts are with you at this time. I have great childhood memories of Mr. Bedard, from the Richelieu maple syrup cans lining the kitchen table each year, to his daily ritual of sharing a piece of cheese with Snoopy (pitou!), and how proud he was at your wedding at the little Swastika church, Denise. Those were the good old days! Jan xo
