STEWART, Ruth

Ruth Marie Stewart (Taylor) passed away at the Temiskaming Hospital on June 25th, 2021.

Ruth was born in New Liskeard to Jim and Ethel (nee Johnston) Taylor on June 22nd, 1926.

She married Edgar Stewart in New Liskeard on September 8, 1951.

Ruth was a lifelong resident of New Liskeard and before retiring was an Executive Secretary for the Temiskaming Board of Education.  In her personal life, she enjoyed a good game of bridge, reading and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens.

Ruth was predeceased by her parents, her husband Edgar (2004) and her brothers Howard (1980) and Charlie (2019). 

She is survived by her children, Mary (Fred), Jane (Kim), Don (Lorna) and Bob (Irene) along with her grandchildren Jessica, Ryan, Chanel and Shaelyn.

In keeping with Ruth's wishes, there was no visitation or funeral service.  

A private commemoration of her life was held at the Pioneer Cemetery in New Liskeard.
