ROWLANDSON, Wilda

1927 - 2021

Wilda Rowlandson passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2021 in her 94th year. She will be greatly missed by her children: Bob (Sue), Laurie (Linda), Daryl (Lynne), Sharen (Keith), Mike (Judy), Marie (Rob) and David (Sally); grandchildren: Rob, Pete, Jeff, Karen, Tracy, Shannon, Tony, Christie, Kara, Darren, Mitchell, Wesley and Molly and 15 great-grandchildren. Wilda is also survived by her brothers, Jahz and Sam and sister, Gaynelle and joins Harold, Donnie, Sheila and Lucy in heaven.

While she was each of our greatest fan, her first love was to God and her Saviour. Wilda was an active member of her community and church. A lifetime member of the Englehart Horticultural Society, she continued to take pleasure simply sitting on her patio and listening to rustling leaves. Wilda was a fervent word search puzzler, virtual Jeopardy contestant and reader. Her quiet participation and love for others made Englehart better. She was a former Evanturel Township Senior Honour Roll recipient, member of the Wheelchair Bus Fund, Friends of the Library, Figure Skating Executive and faithful church organist for many years.

A long-time resident of Englehart, Wilda grew up in Napanee and, in 1960, courageously left her Toronto teaching career to marry Harold and join his band of six in the North. Her immediate and extended family and countless friends of all ages are blessed to have had her in our lives.

If desired, the family requests contributions in Wilda’s memory be to the Englehart Horticultural Society via McDonald’s Funeral Home. Online comments and stories are welcomed. No service will take place; however, we hope to celebrate Wilda’s life this summer.

My heartfelt sympathies for the unexpected and sudden loss of our dear Wilda... the last time we chatted on the phone she was in good spirits, of good health and had no plans to take any experimental unapproved "jab".. so I'm not sure who talked her into taking a fatal Moderna jab but I do intend to find out. Sad to know she won't be there to chat to. Gone before her natural time.
