BARKER, William

In Memory of William (Bill) James Barker (January 23, 1954 - August 11, 2021).

Bill Barker passed away at his home in Callander, Ontario. He had previously resided in Latchford, New Liskeard, Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Island Falls, Ontario.

An avid outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed hiking and fishing. He was always scouting out good blueberry patches. Bill was a conservationist with a strong interest in the responsible use of natural resources.

Bill had a lifelong passion for books and music. A voracious reader, he was a student of philosophy, and literature from many sources. He also had a passion for folk music which he enjoyed performing with friends and family.

He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Trudy Barker, and by his brother and sister-in law Ric and Bonnie Barker.

Bill is survived by his sisters Helen Casmey (Arleigh), Jennifer Panter (Gary), and brothers Gord Barker and Tom Barker (Ann): eight nieces and nephews and two great nieces and a great nephew.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Due to COVID 19 concerns, funeral services will be limited to immediate family only.
