Laurila children, Billy. Chuck, Debbie and Kelly and all of Sonny's love ones

My sincere condolence on the passing of your father. Your mom was a very dear friend of mine and my work partner for many, many years so this is another blow to Sonny's children. May your dad rest in peace. Gloria Semple.

Everyone who loved Bill

Henry and I would like to send a note of strength and love and support to family and friends that were honoured enough to share their life with this man on any level. He knew Henry and Mike Melong from the MNR and I recently met him at a fabulous fish fry, that I shall never forget. Our hearts are with you all and special hugs to Meggan, whom I know will need some extra loving TLC during this time. Blessed be and Godspeed.

The Bill Laurila family

Bill was the real deal and you could depend on his straightforward Finn character in any life situation. I did, and that worked well consistently and invariably. I smile simply thinking of Bill Laurila. That is everything. Kiitos Bill and happy trails.

I didn't know Bill, but my dad (Albert Wright)worked for L&F (currently MNR) for many years and I often heard him speak of Bill, always in positive terms. My sincere condolences to the family.

The Laurila Family

Saddened to hear of Bill's passing. I worked with him many years ago at the MNR when I first got out of college.
Bill always had that smile on his face and was always willing and available to teach and make sure everyone he worked with worked safely.
Even though he loved the Englehart area, he was well respected in Kirkland Lake and across Unit #28.
My sincere condolences to all of Bill's family and friends.
RIP Bill and Thank You!

Family and Friends of Bill

Deepest condolences to all of Bills family and friends. Bob and I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Bill during our years with MNR Swastika. A finer man there never was, so helpful, and kind. RIP Bill.

Bill Jr, Rick Gordon and the rest of the Laurila Family

Sincere condolences to the Laurila Family.
Bill was a very good-hearted Man. When I was in public school, Bill came to the school and took a group of interested kids out to the bush and gave us a lesson in bush survival skills including how to use a compass, light a fire, and building a basic shelter for protection from the weather. This single experience stuck with me and resulted in me choosing the same career path.
Bill also taught me and pretty much everyone else in the area the Hunters Safety Course for at least a decade before and 5 decades after I had taken my course. He subsequently taught my 2 Sons and refused to take any money for my boys safety course. He told me that he had never charged for MNR staff's children and never would.
Bill subsequently gave me my first opportunity to work for MNR and I worked with/for him early on and then again late in my time with MNR.
I will miss seeing Bill around and having little visits with him.
Thank you Bill for all the great memories.

I had the honour of having Bill in charge of our tree-planting in the 70’s. He was an awesome boss with a great sense of humour. My condolences to the whole family.

Bill and his family were my Mom’s next door neighbours on 7th Ave many years ago. He was a very kind and helpful neighbour. Bill also taught our sons the Hunter Safety Course. He was well liked and will be missed in the community.

The Laurila Family

So sad to hear of Bill's passing. Bill was my first supervisor with the MNR . He hired me out of forestry college in Lindsay in 1978 to do tree planting and timber cruising (and duties as assigned) out of the Englehart office. I worked for him for a couple of years. He was very easy to work for and was very knowledgeable. He was a good man.
My condolences to the Laurila family. He will be missed by all.
