In loving memory of Dorothy Hazel Marjorie Macdonald, 104 years old, who passed away at Teck Pioneer Residence on August 28, 2025.
Born on the 23rd of August, 1921 in Milberta Ontario, 3rd of Frank and Amy Gilmour's 11 children.
A proud Northerner raised in Kirkland Lake area. She felt there was no where better to live than right here in Kirkland Lake. A woman of great faith, a devoted loving wife, mother and grandmother. Always loyal and supportive of her immediate and extended family.
She was well known for her love of cooking and entertaining. Her home was a warm and inviting place for all.
Beloved wife of Robert Grigg Macdonald, predeceased 11th of June, 2024. She will be sadly missed by her only remaining sibling, brother, Norman (Shorty) Gilmour. Cherished Mother of Norman Macdonald (wife Brenda) who are also predeceased, her daughter Eleanor Dagelman (husband Jack), Flora Keene (husband Alan), Gloria Harman (husband Sydney, predeceased).
Grandmother of Dean Macdonald (wife Vicki), Robert Macdonald (wife Angel), Tammy Macdonald, Sandra Dagleman-Woroch (husband Dave), John Dagleman (wife Kendra), Darrin Keene (wife Jacqueline), Heidi Keene-Laughzon (husband Doug), Billy Bonney (wife Joy) and Jessica Bonney-manor (husband Matthew). Great Grandmother of 14, Great-Great Grandmother to our newest arrival Maev Macdonald, as well as a Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Last but not least she will be missed by her many friends and all the careviers at Teck Pioneer Residence who played a very important role in her life.
Dorothy is currently resting at Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative where the Funeral Service will be held. A visitation will be held September 1st from 11:00 am to 12:30pm. The Service will take place on Monday September 1st, at 12:30 pm, followed by a luncheon at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place on Tuesday at Kirkland Lake Cemetery.
