LESSARD, Leo

1946 - 2022

Leo Lessard, of Kirkland Lake, passed away on May 11, 2022 at Blanche River Health – Kirkland Lake Site.

 Leo was born in La Tuque, Quebec on March 19, 1946.  He graduated from KLCVI in 1965 and went on to George Brown College to become a Sheet Metal Worker.  He worked at various Sheet Metals Shops in the Kirkland Lake area until his retirement in 2019.   He was an avid outsdoorsman and his favorite pastime was  to spend his time at his remote camp hunting and fishing.

 He was predeceased by his Father, Rosaire Lessard in 1979 and his Mother, Dorothy Boyd Lessard in 2010.  Leo is survived by his children Lynn (Kelly) Saskatoon and Cody (Shawna) Hearst.  He is also survived by his brother Gerry (Donna), Kirkland Lake, his sisters Estelle and Mary Ann both of Montreal.   He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Karla, Kendra, Kyla,  Dante, and his great granddaughter, Charlotte. 

 As per Leo’s wishes Cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation or service at this time.

The family would like to thank the Doctor’s and Nurses on the fourth floor  for all their care and compassion.

So very sorry for your loss. I had the great pleasure of working many a summer, during my school years, with Leo when he worked with my father Karl. I can still picture Leo, with his full head of hair slicked back and a mouthful of chew. At lunch his silver metal lunch pail. He was always kind, humorous, patient and a joy to work with. Rest In Peace Leo.
