Larson, Liss

1940 - 2023

Liss W. Larson of Larder Lake, ON passed away on March 12 th , 2023 after a long illness.

Liss was born February 10, 1940. He married the love of his life Bertha McKenzie on May 9, 1959.
Bertha predeceased him on July 7, 2022.

Liss worked in a variety of trades: logger, electrician, gifted carpenter, as owner Larson & Sons' contracting company and as a volunteer for the Frontiers organization.

Liss is survived by his "Baker's Dozen" referring to his children: Mabel (d 1959), Sherry, Davey, Daniel (Sylvie), Kristine (Leroy), Dale (Denis), Tony (Terry), Martin (Lorraine), Sonya ( Ray), Bruce (Diana), Dwayne (Sylvie) and D'Arc (Trevor). As well as his brothers Norman (Bonnie) and half brother Jimmy Moen (Debbie) and sister Sonja (Ken) Rennick.

Liss always maintained that he got a "bonus son" when Bert McKenzie (Darquise) entered their lives. But was always there for him, especially during the past few months.

Liss was predeceased by his parents, Mabel Chesboro and Carl W. Larson, as well as his brothers Carl and Algot.

He also leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. He is very proud his lineage will live on through all dear to him.

Liss had chosen cremation which has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place in the spring (a date has yet to be determined) for family and friends.

Liss’s Family

Sincere condolences to all my cousins and their families.

My Uncle Liss is always a fun memory for me. I remember lots of laughs and lots of cousins to hang with!! My dad (Carl) and Liss always enjoyed their time together.

I texted with him a few times early January when I sent him Christmas flowers. He was so sweet as he shared some special moments that he remembered with me.

May happy memories take over the sadness of losing a much loved person.

Looking forward to celebrating his life this Spring.

Condolences to all the Larsons for your loss. Bertha and Liss have journeyed with us from the early years at Kenojevis and McWatters then to Larder with a strong enthusiasm for community and family. May their journey continue in peace and joy watching evermore their “Bakers Dozen”. Jocelyne (McKenzie) Robinson
