MacDonald, Wayne Alexander

MACDONALD, Wayne Alexander

1946 - 2022

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, brother, and friend of New Liskeard. Wayne passed away at the Temiskaming Hospital on Friday, March 25th 2022 at age 76 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on November 1st, 1946 in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec to George William MacDonald and Edith Rose (McLaren) MacDonald.  He is survived by his partner Bea Nelson of 30 plus years of New Liskeard, Ontario and his brothers Donald MacDonald (Lorraine) of North Bay, Ontario and Earl MacDonald (Carol) of Haileybury, Ontario.  Wayne is predeceased by his mother Edith, father George, sister Barbara, brother Graham. Raised in Sudbury Ontario he attended Nickel District Collegiate & Vocational Institute and later Cambrian College in Sudbury, Ontario in Business & Finance. In his younger years he enjoyed playing snare drum in the New Liskeard Legion 33 band attending many parades. Wayne also played some guitar from time to time. He was an avid vinyl record collector amassing many records throughout the years and he was also a big animal lover. He owned many dogs in his lifetime and a few horses. Wayne had a very versatile career working at OPP dispatch, CIL Canada, Acres, Ontario Hydro, Tandy Leather manager, radio announcer at CJTT, salesman at Radio Shack, a salesman at Jack Fraser Menswear, manager of Tri-Town Bingo, but what he was mostly known for was 40 plus years as a Deluxe Coach Bus Driver.  He pounded the pavement in Canada and the USA for the likes of Grey Hound, Estaire Bus Lines, Walsh Bus Lines, Tisdale Bus Lines, Diversified Transportation in Fort McMurray, and recently Stock Transportation Haileybury where he drove school bus and city transit. Wayne will be truly missed by one all.  We will miss his smile, sense of humor, his laugh and as he use to put it his "Endless Fountain Of Useless Information".  Farewell and Goodbye Wayne
