GILLETT, Hazel

1940 - 2025

GILLETT, Hazel - It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Hazel at the age of 85.

She was daughter of the late Ethel and Perry Draper. Predeceased by her husband Jack. Proud mother of Allan (Maureen), Cathleen (Robin) and the late Rick. Much loved grandma of Mike (Trish) and Scott (Kayla). Great grandmother of Madison, Briley, Zayah and Alden. Predeceased by her sisters, Mary (late Irv) and Elsie (late Cliff). She is survived by her brother Robert (Cecilia).

Hazel will be fondly remembered for her quick wit and her sense of humor. Family was the most important thing to Hazel, she would always be there for us if anyone needed anything, celebrating all of our families' successes with us. She was a teacher and spent a long career working in a supervisory role in retail. She was never truly ready to retire, she volunteered for countless charities and organizations.

A funeral service will be held on September 15th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative, 111 Burnside Drive, Kirkland Lake, ON. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation will be greatly appreciated by the family.

Back to the days on Third Street is as far back as I can remember, you were our neighbour’s across the street.
Your Mom may be gone in person, but she will live on in your hearts and your minds.
I periodically ran into your Mom whether it be at the CTC store or even on the street, she always remembered who I was.
Rest In Peace Hazel and God Bless.
Rodney
