GAGNON, Jeannine

1933 - 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mme Jeannine Gagnon on May 8th, 2025 at the age of 91 at Extendicare Kirkland Lake. Daughter of the late George Tremblay and late Gabrielle Moreau. Wife of late Marcel Gagnon. She leaves behind her daughter Therese (late Ross); her grandchildren: Jessie (Laetitia), Adam; her great granddaughter Charlie; her brothers and sisters, her brothers and sisters in law; nephews and nieces as well as many  friends.

She worked many years at the Chapleau tree nursery for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. She enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. At home she kept busy sewing or knitting. She always devoted herself in preparing meals for family gatherings. She especially took pleasure in playing pranks on friends and family. In her pastime she did crosswords, but her favorite was playing cards, especially a game of Tock with her great grand daughter Charlie. She loved nature and bird watching, especially the swallows building their nests.

Her love and presence will be greatly missed.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Extendicare for their great care and support.

In memory of Jeannine, your expressions of sympathy can be expressed by a donation of your choice.

As per Jeannine's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral.

Burial will take place at a later date at the Chapleau cemetery.

Jeanine and Her Daughter

Dear Jeannine and her lovely family.
I was a PSW who worked at Extendicare for three years before I moved and those three years, they were amazing because Jeannine was always joking around and laughing with us on Days and Evenings. She even tried teaching me french! And one time on days PSW Kayla gave her a water gun and she was so sneaky with it, spraying all the workers and would quickly look away or hide her face and say that she didn’t do it and would point at someone else. She will forever hold a place in my heart ️

May my support
warm your heart
