Sullivan, Jenny

SULLIVAN, Jenny

1938 - 2025

In Loving memory of Jenny Sullivan who peacefully slipped away to be with her soulmate Merv. Surrounded by love at Teck Pioneer Residence on the 17th of May, 2025.

Jenny was predeceased by her husband of 60 years Mervin, parents Saima and Anton Jarvi, her sister Eila Laakso, brother Unto Jarvi, sisters in law Claire Conrad and Ann O’Grady.

Jenny was born and raised in Larder Lake before moving to North Bay to study radiology. It was there that she met the love of her life Mervin and it was on their first date that she truly fell for him…in her stocking feet on the dance floor. Merv was quick to pick her up and keep right on dancing.

They married in 1962 and they made their home on Duncan Avenue where Jenny still resided until a few short months ago. Her beautiful flower garden was admired by many. Jenny’s whole life was her family. Always loving, supportive and never giving up on us. Mom kept her true friendships close to her heart always keeping in touch and caring about them near or far.

She will be forever missed by her cherished children John (Janice) Sullivan, Diane (Bruce) Dudgeon, Myles Sullivan (Melissa Anwatin). She was the best Mummu to her many grandchildren. Keegan, Liam, Colin, Leah, Jada, Jema, Brenna, Shanna and Zach as well as her 7 great grandchildren. Jenny is also survived by her brother-in-law Glenn Conrad and sister-in-law Lily Jarvi. Many cousins in Finland as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended families and lifelong friends.

The family would like to thank the TPR staff, many nurses and PSWs Raj, Amandeep, Jacey, Lynn, Pam, Veneeta and so many more amazing caregivers.

A private family interment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blanche River Health Foundation – Kirkland Lake Site (145 Government Road East, Kirkland Lake, ON P2N 3P4)

The entire Mattson clan loved your mother dearly. She was my mother's best friend and the Mattson kids always referred to her as "Aunty Jenny". I will miss her so much but will always cherish the many memories. I know you will as well. She was such a wonderful person and I am so grateful that she was part of my life. I wish you all peace and tranquility.

So many memories of growing up on Duncan with your family across the street. Right from our dogs, to growing up together and always a wave and a smile from across the road whenever we came home to visit. Our folks are having a wee visit now reminiscing on raising their kids there and how Kirkland Lake really was a great place to do this. Wishing you all peace in your hearts knowing your sweet Mom is back with your Dad.

Paul and I are so very sorry for the loss of your Mom and your kids Mummu. She was the sweetest lady and so beautiful. She and your Dad made the perfect pair and I could definitely see him "sweeping her off her feet".

Diane, you and your Mom were often together and I know you brought her to so many appts-the hair appts were great bc Joanne is just up the street so it gave us time for a quick visit. She loved you all so much and I'm sure she hated leaving you but her handsome dance partner was most likely missing her and saving her a dance. I hope it brings you all peace to know they are together again.

Sending love and hugs to all of you. xoxo
