1935 - 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymonde Champion (née Gagné), who left us peacefully on April 21 st , 2025, at 90 years of age, surrounded by the love of her family.
Raymonde was predeceased by her loving husband Paul-Antoine Champion, her parents, Alice (Fortin) and Émile Gagné, her sister Rollande Matte and her brother Louis Gagné. Raymonde was a devoted and cherished mother to Raymond (Line), Michel, Marie-Paule (Daniel), Joseph (Carole), Daniel (Claire). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Nathalie (Philippe), Serge (Jennifer), Marc-Antoine (Valerie), Sébastien (Alissa), Shannel (Steven), Danica and Mathieu, and a joyful great-grandmother to Vincent, Hugo, Dexter, Axell, and Théo. As well as her siblings: Gaston, André (Jeanine), Yvon (Isabelle), Francine (Nelson), Gilbert (Guylaine), and Daniel.
Raymonde will be remembered for her radiant smile and infectious laughter—both of which could light up any room. Her warm, heartfelt hugs had a way of making everything feel a little brighter and a little more hopeful. She was a source of comfort, joy, and strength to all who knew her.
She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of sharing in her life.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Teck Pioneer Residence for unwavering care, respect and dignity shown to Raymonde. Your kindness and dedication made a difference in her life and brought comfort to those who loved her. Raymonde, your light will continue to shine in all of us. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
In honour of Raymonde’s life and spirit, donations can be made to the following: Teck Pioneer Residence – Activity Fund (145A Government Rd E, Kirkland Lake, ON P2N 3P4)
A visitation will be held May 3 rd, 2025, 10:00-11:45 a.m. at Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative, followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 12:00 p.m. A time of fellowship and refreshments will take place in the Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Raymonde will be laid to rest in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery at a later date.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their love and support during this time of sorrow.

C’est avec grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Raymonde Champion (née Gagné) le 21 avril 2025 à l’âge de 90 ans. Prédécédée par son époux bien-aimé Paul-Antoine, ses parents Alice et Émile, sa soeur Rollande Matte et son frère Louis Gagné.

Ainsi que ses frères et soeurs: Gaston, André (Jeanine), Yvon (Isabelle), Francine (Nelson), Gilbert (Guylaine) et Daniel.
On se souviendra de Raymonde pour son sourire éclatant et son rire contagieux, capables d’illuminer n’importe quelle pièce. Ses câlins chaleureux faisaient briller les journées de tous. Elle était pour tous une source de réconfort, de joie et de force.
Elle laisse en héritage une vie remplie de bonté, d’amour et d’un profond dévouement envers sa famille. Sa présence continuera de résonner dans le coeur de tous ceux qu’elle a aimés et touchés.
La famille souhaite remercier chaleureusement le personnel de la Résidence Teck Pioneer pour les soins attentionnés, le respect et la dignité avec lesquels Raymonde a été accompagnée jusqu’à ses derniers moments. Votre bienveillance a touché nos coeurs et a apporté du réconfort à tous ceux qui lui étaient chers.
Raymonde, ta lumière continue de nous éclairer. Ton absence laisse un vide immense, mais ton amour vivra toujours en nous.

Une visite aura lieu le 3 mai 2025, de 10h00 à 11h45 à la Coopérative funéraire de Timiskaming, suivie par un service dans la chapelle à 12h00. Une réception aura lieu au centre d'accueil de la maison funéraire après le service. Raymonde sera inhumée au cimetière de Kirkland Lake à une date ultérieure.
La famille est profondément touchée par l’amour et le soutien reçus en ces moments de tristesse, et en est sincèrement reconnaissante.
