LAVRIC, Steve

1966 - 2022

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Steve Lavric announce is passing on August 14th, 2022. Steven is  predeceased by his father Donald Lavric. Survived by his mother Monique Lavric. His son Jessie Costello (Courtney) and grandson Callum Costello. His son Tyson Lavric. His brother Micheal Lavric (Janice) and nephews AJ and Thomas Lavric. His sister Lori Lavric. His nephew Alex Gregory( Stephanie) and great nephew Daniel Gregory. He also had a multitude of cousins aunts and uncles. He will be missed immensely by so many lives he touched. Big Lav, the big teddy bear…the gentle giant. This is a loss felt by the whole community. He served the town of Kirkland Lake and the OPP for years. He was a gentle soul and would do anything for his family. We will all miss him dearly.


A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Timiskaming Funeral Cooperative - French Family Chapel in Kirkland Lake. Anyone who Steve is welcome to join the family in his final farwell.

Lavric family

To Monique , Mike , Lori and all the Lavric family I would like to extend my sincerest condolences to you all.
There is nothing that I could say about Steve that we all already know.
When I was 17, he would make time to meet up with me at Vic's gym to act as my personal trainer.....of sorts.
He would deliberately set the pull downs to 220lbs and would say "Ivan , if you just pull on that and hang there for about 10 min, you may hit 5 ft 5 before you head to Carleton."
We had roles in each others gym interaction and that was to see who could make the other laugh the most.
He explained to me why he wanted to get into law enforcement at the time and suggested that if he and I ever became law enforcement officers...we could be like Schwarzenegger and DeVito.

When he spoke of his family, it was always of the highest regard...and would ask "Why the hell are you and Mike exchanging 8 tracks 1950s music...Get a life !"

Big guy with a warm heart...I have my memories of Big Steve and I know he will be missed dearly by those who worked with him...and most importantly by his loving family.
