With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of William David Ball.
Bill was born in Claresholme Alberta, Canada February 25, 1943 to William and Matilda Ball. Bill attended Central Public School, KLCVI and University of Waterloo and Western where he completed his education. Bill then went on to be a teacher at KLCVI. He taught Phys Ed and coached many sports.
Bill enjoyed football, hockey, golf, curling, baseball and numerous other activities. Bill is survived by his son Derek (Nancy), sisters Margaret Davies and Patricia Ball, Nephew Willie Davies and Family, Niece Marnie Preston and family, granddaughter Briella Ball.
A special thank you to Brian and Lorraine Montague your care will not be forgotten.
In keeping with Bill’s wishes cremation has taken place.

We are so very sorry for the loss of a kind, caring and gentle man. Francis and I live down the street and always seen Bill driving past our house, out puttering around his yard, shoveling his driveway every winter for 13 years. Rip Bill. You will be missed

We are so sad on receiving the news of Bill’s death. How fortunate we were to have had him as a friend, fellow teacher and especially as a member of our PE Dep’t at KLCVI! He continuously contributed so much to the great atmosphere of the school and community and we will always think of the great and fun times we had together . He will be greatly missed and remembered by his past students as a coach and teacher and also by his fellow staff members and many friends in the community ! We were very saddened to learn that Bill has passed away. He was Bernie's friend and co-worker for many years and was a member of our wedding party in 1971. He will be missed by all who knew him.

I am so sorry to hear of your fathers passing. Starting with my time in his grade 9 Phys-ed class I always enjoyed having the opportunity to sit and talk with Mr. Ball. He was a wonderful storyteller and always had time for a former student. What a wonderful laugh and a bigger than life presence. Condolences to you Derek, and your Family at this very sad and difficult time. I only have seen Bill the last few years at Tim's having coffee with his men friends, but will remember him and his laugh forever. So sorry for your loss.
My most sincere condolences to Mr. Ball's family. He was my football coach, teacher and mentor. He was one of the reasons that I went on to the Physed program and play college football at Laurentian University. I remember him well and loved his green Charger!

Mr. Ball was a great teacher and person. Cared about kids and their well being. Was also a good friend to my dad who always spoke highly of him. Rest in peace. My condolences.

So sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. So many good memories from his teaching and coaching at KLCVI, as well as our dad’s sports teams and gatherings, and of course living down the street.
I can’t say I’ve ever heard a bad word spoken of him, and that certainly seems reinforced by what I’ve been reading on this page.

Please accept my sympathies. Bill and I attended the old Federal Public School where he was the unofficial policeman in in the schoolyard protecting the little kids from bullies. We were also teammates for 9 years on the Teck Hotel Oldtimers baseball team that morphed into Men-in-Motion. I recall us going for the same fly ball in the field then crashing into each other like two logging trucks crashing at high speed, well old guy speed then getting up laughing. RIP old buddy.
